So close, no matter how far: our 17th anniversary, while working from home

Find out how we spent our 17th anniversary while working from home and why this event has been so special to us all at Zitec.
So close, no matter how far: our 17th anniversary, while working from home

Can you believe it? Just a little bit less than a week and we’ll be turning 17. Looking back to June 10th 2003, when Alex and Simona Lapusan set the foundation for Zitec, recently awarded Company of the Year at the ANIS Gala, this has been quite a journey, which, to be honest, seems to have passed in the blink of an eye.

Zitec TeamBuildingJumping back to present day, 17 years later, we are 170 people stronger, and apart from wrapping up over 500 digital transformation projects for clients in over 15 countries, we are proud to have our own success stories in the making: Mirro, a performance management platform, and Regista, a document management application for public institutions, both technology solutions developed to put people first. Because, at the end of the day, that is what we are all about.

So how do we normally celebrate? By tradition, at the start of June, we all gather for three or four days at the seaside or in the mountains and enjoy some crazy, memorable moments together. But fun can be just a means to a bigger end, because – take last year’s anniversary for example: we collected money for MagiCAMP, a unique Romanian NGO that hosts special camps for children affected by life’s toughest challenges.

That is how this year’s team-building event came together, because now, more than ever, we want to show our support to the community we are part of – be it colleagues, partners, clients, NGOs – you can truly count on us, no matter how trying the times.

wait, team-building event, during social distancing times? Yes, you got that right, because you know us at Zitec, we’re natural-born innovators, and if the situation requires it, we adapt to it in the most creative ways.

So, how will it happen, you ask? Our very own in-house rock ‘n’ rollers, ZiBand, will be holding an online charity concert for the benefit of Cumparaturi la usa ta (English: Groceries at Your Doorstep), an initiative through which volunteers deliver groceries to the elderly or disabled. We will cheer for them remotely, just after we’ve taken part in all sorts of fun online activities, meant to bring us together, no matter how physically far we are.

Oh, and in case you want to catch a glimpse of what to expect from the concert that ZiBand will be holding on June 10th, say no more. Back in 2017, our amazing band held another charity concert at club Spice, and we recorded it in full. Three years later, we’ll tell you this: all this working from home has got our colleagues all worked up and ready to rock!

If you want to know how you can help, it’s simple. Just join our Facebook event and spread the news! The more people learn about this cool initiative developed by Geeks for Democracy and donate, the better. We’re all in this together, for the greater good.
